I found this mint condition working Magellan, could I get it to work?

Give it a go, I would suggest a new set of batteries and leave it stationary in a place that has a clear outdoor view of the sky away from buildings, trees etc., it may take some time, maybe hours to get the first 'fix'

Thanks, It's the dead of winter pretty much, but my only concern was if the satellites would work :P

Well the satellites are still there :), you could try it on a window cill, but if you have somewhere outside that is safe to leave it unattended it would be better. It could take as little as10 minutes so you could try that first and see what happens

One problem that affects older unit is the Week Rollover Problem, the Magellan GPS 2000 will definitely have this problem and it has been reported that because of this that no units of this type work anymore, however other units that have this problem can still get a satellite 'fix', I have GPSs that have the rollover problem but they do still work
