Basecamp Version 4.7.0, didn't send third party maps to your GPS device, this is now fixed in Basecamp versions 4.7.1 and all later versions
This was because ver. 4.7.0 corrupted Mapinstall version 4.2 which was supplied with it.
The work around was to install Basecamp 4.7.0 (containing Mapinstall version 4.2) and then install an earlier version of Mapinstall that will allow both Garmin and 3rd party maps to be downloaded, the steps were as follows :-
1) Open the Windows program list and look for Garmin MapInstall 4.2. If it's there, run the uninstaller.
2) Delete the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\MapInstall" directory.
3) Run MapInstall 4.0.4 installer.
So avoid Basecamp Version 4.7.0 and instead use Basecamp versions 4.6.2, 4.7.1 or later
Past and Present versions of Garmin Basecamp can be downloaded from here :-
