I recently got a new-to-me Nuvi 40LM (though it was used), but unfortunately, I dropped it and broke the screen. The external casing looks fine when its off, but when turned on, most of the screen is covered in a shiny grey, making it essentially unusable. I have been searching for either a replacement screen or a Nuvi on eBay or similar sites, ideally for less than the I originally paid for the unit. I'm also wondering if any models besides the Nuvi 40 or 40LM could serve as a donor screen. Specifically, eBay often suggests the Nuvi 1300 when I search for Nuvi 40, and since they share the same screen size, I'm m curious if they use the same display. If anyone has experience with screen replacements or knows of affordable sources for damaged Nuvis that could be used for parts, I’d greatly appreciate any advice!
