I bought a new cigarette lighter adapter to charge phones. The cigarette lighter charger has 4 outlets with a 3.1A symbol on each side. I would like to power a Garmin Nuvi navigator, a Dash cam, and a phone at the same time on a trip.

I have a mini-USB connector cable. Could I use the charger to supply power to a Garmin Nuvi navigator? I am not sure whether the 3.1A current would damage my Garmin Nuvi navigator.

    Thanks,

Yes, 3.1 Amps is a maximum value, anything plugged into this socket can take up to 3.1A, but the Nuvi will only take what it needs (About 1 Amp) so that is fine

    Thanks a lot.
;)My Garmin navigator is the same as your Nuvi 56 LM. A 32 GB micro-SD is attached.
