I bought a used Foretrex 301 to use with my powered paramotoring and hiking, downloaded the manual and have it pretty well figured out. I am pleased with all the features but had ONE QUESTION not addressed in the manual: One display screen shows your speed in large, full screen numbers and I love it. The question: Is there any way to adjust the field so it shows a different variable other than speed (such as altitude or elapsed time?

    thanks

    Tom

Is the Full screen 'Speed' displayed on the Trip Computer page? (Page 4), is so then it looks like you can change the items displayed in the Trip Computer page by going to the Trip Computer >> Change Fields option (page 13), See also 'Data Fields' info. (page 15)

Yes it is displayed on the four-element trip computer page, but there is no mention about how to get that full screen display. I can get to it but I can not change it from speed to anything else. Change field options changes any one of the four fields displayed on the trip computer page, but the single display page ALWAYS seems to revert to the speed...

On the GPSmap 60Cx Menu >> Change Fields >> Enter allows you to select which fields are included in 'Big Numbers', the newest field to be selected is inserted at the top of the list, so I guess if you selected (or re-selected) Altitude it would be placed at the top of the viewing list, then if there is only one field displayed, it would be the newly selected Altitude field

Got it! Your 60Cx instructions gave me the clue I needed. Thanks!
