My wife's 1450 developed a problem where whenever it was powered up the map would autozoom to a very high point, showing 3 states etc. You could zoom in but as soon as you turned off the ignition and powered down and then restarted it would again zoom way out. I was able to find a weird fix after ready everything I could find online.
To get the zoom to fix you have to changed from the 3D view to the 2D Track Up view and then set the zoom level properly. You can then change it back to 3D view and the problem doesn't occur. Not sure what triggered the problem after several years of working well but i suspect it had to do with playing with the 3D and Track North settings.
My apologies that I can't remember who posted the item that gave me the idea to try this fix.

Have you tried a master reset? It erases all of your stored data so you should back up your unit first.

I considered the master reset. But the fix I found by switching to 2D setting the zoom and then going back to 3D seems to be holding even through the power on and off and I will stay with that for now. Thanks.
