My buddy bought a new garmin 60cx because he liked mine and I know how to use it. But his runs a track from when he powers off to where he powers back on. Mine has never done that. I know I am over looking something when comparing the two side by side. Thanks for the help.

Are you saying that you and your buddy both own Garmin GPSmap 60Cx but that they are different models?, how are they different?, what software are they both running?. I hate to state the obvious, but it does look as if your buddy's 60Cx is not powering off when he thinks it is

Yes they are the same mine is from 08 and his was bought last year. This happens after even a dead battery.

This is a better idea of what happens more In Depth.

Start off at the road walk in to tree stand double back power off gps drive 3 miles left right left right to another stand turn gps on now there is a line from where we turned it off to where we turned it on.

I would think it would be easy to work out if the 60Cx is 'always on' as the battery would go flat in less than a day
