Garmin Nuvi 2589LMT Won't Turn On

    I have a Garmin Nuvi 2589LMT that was working up until recently. The unit won't turn on at all.
    Have tried plugging the wire into the 12v outlet in the car and holding the power button for 30 seconds but still won't turn on. The light on the wire turns on so the wire is ok.
    Have also tried plugging it into a PC with USB wire but it is not recognized by both the PC and the Garmin Express app.
    If the battery is bad, should the unit still work when plugged in to a power source?

    Any help in getting the unit to work again, would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    If the wire between the car adapter and the 2589 was broken the light would still light on the adapter

    So are you saying that the 2589 does turn on when plugging into a PC with USB ?

    When the internal battery is faulty it can prevent the GPS from powering up even when the unit is powered from an external power supply

    It does NOT turn on when plugging into a PC with a USB wire.
