So after Magellan completely ignored my emails and requests on some serious problems i had with a Explorist 310, ( dead pixels from the day i bought it new, and only 120 months after it no longer tracks satellites)
i decided to dump Magellan in favor of a new Garmin Dakota 10 model.
what is your thoughts on the Dakota 10 and how it compares to the 310 ? i know its touch screen vs. the 310 was not.
Durability ? battery life ? i just got it so i have not had tested it enough yet.

Welcome to Garmin and this forum. I dumped my three year old Magellan Roadmate because it developed a short. Besides Magellan's customer service leaves a lot to be desired as well as they not supporting Mac to upgrade their maps. It was cheaper to dump Magellan for Garmin with lifetime traffic and map upgrades for just over $100.

I agree, my handheld 310 had a dead pixel in the first week i had it, then it grew to 1/4 inch size and Magellan basically told me "to bad" and then ignored me after. im done with Magellan from now on.
