nuvi 3597; M1 MBP; Sequoia 15.2 mount problems

    Many have complained that there GPS won't mount. I had the same problem. /volumes showed the add-on chip mounted but the GPS itself was trying and Disk Utility couldn't do it. It turned out that if I waited long enough it finally mounted. It took a really long time!

    If you're not familiar with the terminology in the title, here is a guide :-

    nuvi 3597 = A Satnav GPS made by Garmin
    MBP = Mac Book Pro (Laptop computer made by Apple)
    M1 = the CPU running on the MBP (a Silicon on Chip equivalent to an Intel i7)
    Sequoia 15.2 = a version of an Apple operating system software running on the MBP
    Mount = enable a computer (the MBP) to 'see' a new item plugged into it
