How can I permanently delete Saved Locations? I've moved from Texas to Florida and I've repeatedly deleted my Texas Saved Locations, but they keep reappearing. How can I permanently delete them
Thanks
John

It would help if you told us where you was trying to delete the Waypoints from, eg:- the model of the GPS, also if you have used Garmin Express or Basecamp to connect to your GPS these programs may have backed up these files and is restoring them to your GPS

Sorry. My primary unit is the Garmin DriveSmart 65, and I do use Garmin Express for updates, but haven't used Basecamp in years.

So I guess you have done this :-

When do they re-appear ?, after a power off / on ?, after you connect the 65 to your computer?, etc.

Yep. I've deleted them, then the next time I start the car, they're all back. This unit does have WiFi, so it could be connecting to my network while in driveway. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

You could do a full data reset but this will put the unit back to factory default, it will not delete maps but it will delete all Waypoints, Tracks and Routes as well as user settings

I've tried the Delete Data and Reset Settings, and the Saved Locations still come back. The data must be stored in the cloud somewhere, and is then refreshed when I use Garmin Express to update the Maps.

Garmin Express carries out an automatic backup of Waypoints to your computer, the Windows location is at :-
C:\Users\user1\Documents\Garmin\Backups\[Folder Number]\[Dated Folder]\GPX\

However I don't think this backup is automatically sent back to your GPS, you could try moving any files found in this folder to another location

I doubt that the DS65 would reinstate the way points from the cloud. A way to eliminate that possibility is to switch off WiFi connection on the DS65 so it can't get access to the Web.

Okay, I deleted the suggested Windows Folders, and will switch off the WiFi connection. I'm in the process of deleting the unwanted Locations now and will see how that goes. I have a great many locations to delete, so it's going to take awhile. Thanks for all the help. Muchly appreciated

Okay, I deleted all the Locations, did a Garmin Express software update, rebooted and the Locations are gone. Thanks again for all the help.
