Hi all first post. Did a search and could not find a thread on this but am sure it is out there. I use a BMW Motorrad badged Garmin sat nav (Navigator VI, Hardware ver V7 Software 5.8)

Getting it recognised by my PC is a nightmare (and I've use two different laptops). (Windows 11 home) It will link up occasionally and have to use just one cable by trial and error that sometimes works. USB Thumb drives and phone no problems any suitable cable anytime!. Sat nav always switches on and accepts a charge, sometime shows link to PC graphic on it's screen... even then not recognised on PC network. Doesn't seem to matter if Garmin express is running or not.

    Any thoughts? Many thanks

I have this exact same problem. I when I say exact I mean exact. No issues with any other device connecting via USB but my BMW Nav VI is a bloody nightmare.

The user guide suggests that the Motorrad should be turned off before connecting a USB cable between the unit and a computer so that it auto turns on in 'computer' mode

That maybe so, but it doesn't change anything at my end, laptop will still not pick it up.
